An Ontario native, Dr. Tabesh (Kingston family dentist) was raised in North York, Toronto, where he attended “George S. Henry Academy” high school and was honoured as an Ontario Scholar during his time there. He began his post-secondary education at the prestigious University of Toronto, Victoria College, achieving an Honours degree in Human Biology (Hon. BSc.), graduating from such with distinction.
On completion of his undergraduate education, he next began his graduate education by completing a Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During this time, he took particular interest in Oral and Implant Surgery, choosing electives in both. These electives encouraged him to pursue even further training after graduation, in the form of a hospital residency program. This residency program was through both the Vancouver General Hospital and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
The training he has received has allowed him to administer different forms of sedation, from intravenous (IV) to oral sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas). The program has also allowed him to become competent in all aspects of Implant Dentistry (surgical, bone grafting, and prosthetics), oral and periodontal surgery. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of his residency training, however, is his confidence in treating medically compromised patients, both mental and/or physical. He attributes his professional strengths to his residency training along with active memberships with many dental societies and strong involvement in continued dental education.
Since 2006, Dr. Tabesh has been calling Kingston home along with his wife and business partner, Jillian Manthorne, their three kids, and furry friends. The couple and their animals are proudly involved with the Kingston East community and do their share to keep it one of the best places to live. On the weekends, they enjoy taking their dogs for long hikes and, weather permitting, hitting the water, whether sailing or enjoying time with family and friends.
